Spinning the globe idea came about while studying the logistics of moving to Canada. It also sparked a sense of nostalgia, having spun this particular globe around as a child, closing my eyes, putting my finger on a spot, and saying that’s where I’m going on holiday next. The globe is slightly worse for wear, so getting a full spin in for a few seconds of filming took a fair few takes. The idea to have the subject against a plain white background on a stool was to stop distractions for easier masking, but I would have preferred the scene to be in a lake or in the clouds, somewhere angelic.
